After the Archduke was assassinated Austria Hungry found out the assassins were from a Serbian nationalist group and gave Serbia things that Serbia had to do to maintain relation with Austria Hungry, among the requests was the request to give out the names of any other Serbian nationalist groups, to this one Serbia agreed to but not to all. Austria Hungry then declared war on Serbia, Russia which was allied with Serbia joined the war with them, Germany was allied with Austria Hungry and then declared war on Russia and France. Germany declared war on France because France did not agree with all the requests Germany made. Later on England joined the war because they were allied with France and had a pact with Belgium which Germany attacked to get to France faster.
